About the Artist

Nationally recognized portraitist, Linda Harris Reynolds, has been creating memorable portraits for families and individuals for the past twenty-three years from her studio in historic Centreville, DE.

Working mostly in oils, pastels, and charcoals, Reynold's lively painting style serves to enhance the personality of her subjects, and reflects a blending of Classical  Realism and Impressionism.

Portrait commissions include former Headmaster Gordon Schofield of the Sanford School,  Captain John S. Edinger, USRN., as well as  Ms. Sara C. Carlson, international venture capitalist.

Says Ms. Connie L. Trump, “Linda is trustworthy consistent and reliable. She is very creative from the start of a project through completion. Linda is personable, working well with her clients and understanding their needs. I would recommend Linda for anyone who is looking to have an extremely detailed, professional, and beautiful portrait done”.

"Simply put, Linda's portraits are beautiful and timeless. She is a consummate professional, gifted artist, and tireless worker. But more than that, Linda is able to capture the spirit of the person she paints, which for me is what ultimately transforms her work into a cherished piece of art. I highly recommend her," says Mr. Jeffrey Hughes, owner, Hughes Design, Inc.

Reynolds trained at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The University of the Arts, and The Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy. She also received specialized training in the art of portrait and figure painting at the Art Students League, The National Academy of Fine Arts in NYC, as well as The Florence Academy of Art  in Florence, Italy.

Most recently in 2010, the Portrait Society of America’s Cecilia Beaux Forum honored Reynolds as one of ten “emerging artists” in their mentoring program. In 2008 and 2009, she received Honorable Mentions in the international Portrait Society of America’s Members Only Competition. She also received the “Best Portfolio Award” at the 2006 “Art of the Portrait” conference in Dallas, Texas. Reynolds was selected to participate in the prestigious New York Portrait Society’s 2002 Juried Exhibition.  This international show was held in the Salmagundi Club on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

Reynolds has been receiving commissions throughout the east coast, and is currently  serving as  the Delaware State Ambassador to the Portrait Society of America. She is represented by the national portrait agency Portrait South, the Hardcastle Gallery, and Carspecken-Scott Gallery.

In 2011 she founded The Centreville Art Student’s League, where she is the sole instructor. There, she teaches classical portrait and figure painting and drawing on a seasonal basis.

Locally, she has had four solo exhibitions on the Wilmington Art Loop, most recently at the Tower Hill School’s DuPont Art Center.  Her group exhibitions include the Hagley Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Designer’s Showcase, as well as shows in New York City and Rome, Italy.
