About the Artist

“The mission of Opus One Vocal Arts is to perform world class repertoire from many vocal genres at a high level of musicianship for the greater Wilmington Community. Furthermore, Opus One strives to promote the power of music by engaging with the community through involvement in charitable organizations and events, support of local artists and composers, and partnering with other local musicians to strengthen the Arts in Delaware.”

Opus One Vocal Arts has been delighting audiences with colorful performances and diverse programing throughout the Brandywine Valley since 2006. Opus One performs varied repertoire from many genres of choral, a cappella, folk, jazz and pop music. A concert is an experience that might include a Renaissance motet, an African folk-song, a jazz standard from Cole Porter or Duke Ellington and a choral gem from a contemporary composer in the USA. Expect the unexpected with Opus One Vocal Arts!

Opus One presents two to three full performances a season usually centered around a theme or musical idea. Concert highlights in the past have included "Around the World in 80 Christmases", "The Great American Songbook", "Beatlemania!", and "A Very Jazzy Christmas!".

The group has also been sought out for private fundraisers, parties and many other functions including the Delaware Hospice Festival of Trees Gala, The Perfect Gift, Rockwood Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival, The Delaware Ovarian Cancer Foundation’s Teal Ribbon Luncheon and more. We continue to partner with the local community and beginning in 2013-2014 Season, we are pleased to announce a joint venture with Calvary Episcopal Church, Hillcrest in Wilmington, DE as "Choir in Residence."
