About the Artist

Crabmeat Thompson

Known as “a local legend,” Crab has actually performed his funky blend of folk, country, blues in comedy clubs, schools, and bars, on TV and radio, in two dozen states as well as Canada, Mexico, Spain, Ireland, and Costa Rica. Twice awarded Artist Fellowships in Delaware, the Meat has also received two awards from the Delaware Press Association for his writing, and he represented the state at the Knoxville World’s Fair.  This experience led to his recording “Small Wonder” about Delaware, which has been published in a Mel Bay book, Songs of the American People.

For several months each year, Professor Thompson teaches literature in Pennsylvania and Florida colleges, and tutors ESL at University of Delaware, where he is pursuing another degree—in Spanish this time. ¡Ole! He and his wife, Janice, travel once a year to teach English at Vaughantown, Valdelavilla, in the mountains of northern Spain.

Thompson’s eight albums of original music are available at gigs or from Amazon, with downloads at iTunes.
