About the Artist

Brittany Barrera "Rebel Natty" is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and producer of the tri-state area who is well- versed in genres like r&b, soul, rock,and many more. Rebel has collaborated with amazing artists like as Kkimmestry, Sug Daniels, and Nia Wa'qiah.  Rebel is passionate about their craft have established a programming that combines social emotional learning and music.

Rebel Natty Music LLC is a company that believes in the appreciation of culture and history, specifically of the African Diaspora. Its impactful influences have created genres like hip-hop, pop, rock, reggae and have been a major staple in world music for years. Exposure of African roots in these genres is essential for educational purposes because it is not often taught. Soul.R is a program for all ages, designed to teach students about music through the lens of the African Diaspora by combining social emotional learning with different musical mediums included but not limited to: bucket drumming, West African Drumming, and rapping. In this curriculum participants will learn to read and compose music, ensemble playing, and emotional intelligence skills for community building. Rebel Natty Music believes that music should be appreciated in a truthful way to honor and respect its original creators.

Multi- instrumentalist: guitar,( acoustic and electric) bass, drums (other percussion: bucket drumming, West African Drumming) and alto saxophone. Exhibit requirements:Electrical connection for amplifiers and monitors.
