About the Artist

Cecilia Ludwig was born in Baltimore, Maryland.  She moved to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware in 2002.  She received a BS degree in Personnel Administration/Business Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  She worked for 19 years in administrative and management positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in Baltimore.  Following this career Cecilia worked with St. Joseph Medical Center’s Federal Credit Union serving as CEO.

Cecilia has had a long-standing interest in the fine arts. She and her husband, Stephen, are avid collectors of paintings, sculptures and antiques.  Their collection includes antique and contemporary works from various parts of the United States and other parts of the world where they have traveled. Cecilia is a Park Watch Volunteer at the Cape Henlopen State Park; a Big Sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program; and a founding member of Artworx 19971.

She is now following her lifelong love of art by doing her own paintings.  While she enjoyed her business career, Cecilia is more fulfilled with her art. She likes to use bold colors to depict subjects of personal interest at home and during her travels. She is a painter known "to paint from her heart as well as her eyes".  Many of her Christmas card paintings of Rehoboth and Lewes area landmarks were printed and became part of her Christmas book, entitled  "A Christmas Tree Story in Sussex County".
