Val is a native Delawarean and has been painting professionally over the past nine years.  She paints using bright colored heavy-body acrylics on canvas or multi-media professional papers.  In 2022, she created a new 'Sunflower Series' featuring several bold colored sunflower paintings. The painting titled 'Sunflower with Fence' was uniquely painted using a pallet knife, giving it a thick 3-day texture.  The Sunflower paintings are available for purchase as a signed limited-edition print (professionally printed on 100# paper) as well as a notecard gift set or single cards with 'uplifting' sayings such as 'Hello Sunshine!' and 'Bee-utiful You!'. Val also enjoys painting tropical waterscapes, sunsets and palm trees. She also recently painted a 'Flamingo Fun' series with  bright magenta flamingos as her subject

Val is currently a member of the First State Craft Guild, Newark Arts Alliance, Rehoboth Art League and the Center of Creative Arts.  She has participated in many art festivals in Delaware including the Brandywine Arts Festival, Hagleys Art Fair, Art on the Green in Old New Castle, and Whitehall/Middletown. Additional festivals include Collingswood, New Jersey and Elkton, Maryland. Her artwork is available for purchase in the Gallery of the Rehoboth Art League. Flamingo prints are very popular there!
