MossRehab Institute for Brain Health (MRIBH) is a non-profit providing no-cost traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress (PTS) care for Veterans and First Responders. The primary funding source for the non-profit is Avalon Action Alliance. Seven (7) such facilities are strategically located nationally to provide these services. MRIBH serves the entire Northeast region. Other regions are served by Tulane University, Florida University Health, Medical College of Wisconsin, etc. 

Veterans are able to apply online, or via phone for assistance. Eligible Veterans are provided travel, accommodations, meal stipend, for an evaluation of care. If accepted into the program veternas are invited back for a three (3) week intensive outpatient program (IOP). During that time travel, meals, lodging, and family attendance (for specific days/events) are again no-cost to the veteran. 

Both the evaluation and IOP are run by a Medical Director (specifically trained in TBI and post-concussive recovery) and managed through multi-disciplinary (customised per patient) care which includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, vestibular and vision therapy, speech therapy, neurophsychology, among others. 

Medical documentation from the evaluation and IOP can be used by the Veteran for additional medical documention with the VA as needed. Follow on treatment plans are recommended and provided via comprehensive dishcharge summaries. 

Additional locations are used for more intensive PTS or substance use issues before/after the IOP, depending on individual veteran needs.
