Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a free educational program that provides Veterans with the

support and skills they need to be successful in college and in life.  VUB prepares students for

college-level studies at Wor-Wic Community College or another college. The program also

supports Veterans who wish to pursue a trade or certificate program.

      All services are funded by the U.S. Department of Education and are available at no cost

to eligible Veterans, National Guard members, and Reservists who reside in Wicomico,

Worcester,Somerset, Dorchester, Accomack, or Sussex County, regardless of when they served.

     VUB is housed locally on the campus of Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland. 

     The program offers a personalized range of services based on an individual’s self-identified needs assessment, academic testing, and career plans:

• Tutoring for math and English skills improvement
• Academic advising and degree planning
• GI-Bill® education benefits and Vocational Rehabilitation education services
• Tuition assistance for active duty and reservists
• Military transcripts
• National Guard education benefits
• Referrals to regional and national VA affiliated service providers
• Free Success Gear- Bookbag, Academic Supplies, and more once enrolled
