The main program components of the Delmarva Chapter Services to the Armed Forces includes pre and post deployment educational briefings-outreach for active duty service members and their families, emergency communication and case management services; in addition to,assistance for veterans of all branches of the military.
• Providing Resiliency Training—Red Cross offers free workshops and courses throughout the deployment cycle from Coping with Deployment, to providing preparedness tools that assist families during the departure of their service member, and focusing on a series of interactive Reconnection Workshops to reduce the challenges of transitioning back home.
• Supporting Wounded Veterans and Military Hospitals—through partnerships with the Departments of Defense and Veterans’ Affairs, the Red Cross provides recreational and reintegration support to veterans, and to their families.
• Linking Military Families During an Emergency—24 hours a day, 365 days
a year, the Red Cross relays urgent messages containing accurate, factual,
complete and verified descriptions of the emergency to service members
stationed anywhere in the world, including on ships at sea and at embassies
and remote locations.
• Connecting Families with Local Community Resources—a key service which ranges from responding to emergency needs for food, clothing, and shelter, referrals to counseling services, and other resources.
