The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a national fraternal non-profit organization which is dedicated to our country, our flag, our communities, our youth and to our veterans. The B.P.O.E has the Elks National Veterans Service Commission which was established in 1946, immediatly after WWII, with the sole mission of serving our veterans. The Elks National Service Commission is to provide assistance and support for veterans and active military in need. The Elks have a Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service Representative in the Wilmington VAMC, the USO/Fischer House at Dover AFB. and the Delaware Veterans Home. The Elks recently provided a gas grille for the Delaware Veterans Home, an entertainment system and X-Box for the Fischer House Home of the Fallen, gift cards, a computor and ceramic kiln for the Wilmington VA. The Elks host a monthly pizza party and bingo at the Community Living Center within the Wilmington VA. The Elks have a motto "So long as there are veterans the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them". The MD,DE & DC Elks Association's Army of Hope provides financial assistance to veterans, both active, retired, National Guard and Reserves. The Army of Hope is working closely with the Wilmingon VA HUD-VASH providing assistance to our Homeless Veterans.
