About the Partner / Provider

Veterans and College Athletes Together (VCAT) is a new program being offered at the University of Delaware free of charge to any post 9-11 veteran, active duty member, Guard/Reservist, including Wounded Warriors.

We match participants with UD athletes as workout buddies. There are two workout sessions a week along with two (required) wellness classes. over a 12-week period. For the fall semester, that begins the first week of September , workout sessions will be held at either 0700-0815hrs (Cohort 1A) or 0945-1100hrs (Cohort 1B) with wellness classes held from 0945-1045hrs for both Cohorts A and B together. A healthy meal will be provided at each wellness class. Wellness classes will consist of such topics as sleep, nutrition, exerceses, volunteerism, happiness, resiliency, communications, personal finances, etc.

Each participant will be given a FitBit Charge, workout gear., and free campus parking on workout days. 

To participant, you must be interviewed in person, have a primary care provider's OK, a copy of your DD214 (honorable or general discharge), a commitment to attend all twelve weeks of the program, and attend the program orientation for two hours on a day TBD the last week in August.

We will track your weight, BMI, visceral fat, waist circumfrnce, flexibility, sleep quality, and other physiological and psychological measures.
