About the Partner / Provider

Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program, a Premier Center for Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship, began in 1982.  We offer Equine Facilitated Learning to individuals who happen to have mental, physical and or emotional difficulties.  We were the second program in the United States to offer Equine Facilitated Learing to Military Veterans.  Our lead instructor has her BS in Equine Studies, Advanced Certification with PATH, Level 2 in Natural Horsemanship and many other certification.  Most important we would lke to meet Military Veterans and give them a chance to enjoy the horses.  Military Veterans can sign up for the Equus Effect which is one day a week, three hours per day, for five weeks.  They learn about the horse as well as learn a lot about themselves.  They will do activities in mindfulness, grooming the horse and Natural Horsemanship.  They can sign up for natural horsemanship classes or riding lessons but we highly recommend taking natural horsemanship classes first so they get a chance to get to know the horses before riding them.  Bonding with the horses is excellent for both or the Military Veteran and the horse.

Our classes are also free to Military Veterans.  They are also free to the family members if the Military Veteran qualifies for Wounded Warriors.
